New guest network with WiFi sponsoring and voucher system for events

    The WiFi infrastructure in Göttingen has been extensively rebuilt. The well-known former GoeMobile is replaced by GuestOnCampus that offers some interesting new features. This includes, in particular, the simplified creation of WiFi accounts for individual guests via the sponsoring function or for a larger number of e.g. conference participants who do not have an eduroam account via the event voucher function.     The data centre of the GWDG is closed from 14.04.2017 to 17.04.2017.

    Update #5: Failure File Service

    Message ID: 201703161100 Time: 16.03.2017, since 11 am Affected: all user of the GWDG Impact: failure of the fileservice

    Currently the File Service of the GWDG is down. We are working intensely on the rectification. We apologize for any inconveniences.

    Update #1: The manufacturer is on it. At that time, a necessary Filesystem check is running. The current disruption is estimated for about an hour.

    Update #2: The disruption in the domain of the “Vorklinik” (preclinical domain) is fixed.

    Simple ticket creation with the new support portlet

    Requests to the support of the GWDG can now be created directly on the website. A new support portlet provides a simple four step dialog to create a new ticket in GWDG´s support system. Requests that are created with this portlet are easier to work with for the support, as they are enriched with speficic information gathered from questions.
