In the last few weeks we have received requests from various parties for additional services in the AcademicCloud. In our effort to support other universities in Lower-Saxony in times of COVID-19, we have therefore extended the offerings for the AcademicCloud by three new services: Meet, Chat and Repository.

The services will be available to all universities in Lower-Saxony from 19.05.2020, as usual, via the portal https://academiccloud.de. The AcademicCloud is a joint infrastructure of the LANIT/RZ of the university computer centers in Lower-Saxony.

On May 12, 2020 from 9-10 am, the Göttingen eResearch Alliance (eRA) will perform a test of an online training workshop on Research Data Management through BigBlueButton in the context of the “eResearch Lab”. The topics of the training will cover the activities of the eResearch Alliance as well as an introduction and motivation of several aspects of research data management.

We obtained a campus license for Zoom meetings. This enables all staff members of the University of Göttingen as well as the UMG Medical centre to access all Zoom functions including unlimited meetings up to 100 attendees. This is now available in time for the semester start. This is an alternative solution to our Big Blue Button (BBB) video conference service provided by GWDG. Licenses for larger meetings are available on request by e-mail to webconf@gwdg.de.
